July 26 is the Feast of Sant’Anna and, like every year, Marina Grande is animated by processions and fires at sea.
Numerous visitors flock to experience one of the most important festivals in Sorrento, where sacred and profane, religion and local traditions are mixed.
The festivities begin as early as Tuesday 17 July with the Novena every evening and with the evening appointment at 20:00 for the Eucharistic celebration.
It is the 26th of July that we enter the heart of the party, from 5:00 to 12:00, about every hour, different masses are celebrated. While in the evening there will be food stands and live music to liven up the party.
At 6:00 pm the blessing of the Sant’Anna carrying sailors is scheduled and on Saturday 28 July, at 8:00 pm, the Eucharistic celebration will be presided by Archbishop Francesco Alfano.
Sunday, July 29, at 8:00 pm, the procession will start from the Church of Marina Grande with the statue of Sant’Anna supported by sailors and directed towards the center of Sorrento, to then return to the little church of the village.
Monday, July 30th at 8:00 pm there will be the last Eucharistic celebration.
