It starts this year, in Sorrento, the first edition of “Spring Concerts”, a series of classic music concerts that will take place from May 4 to June 15, in the council chamber of Sorrento City Hall.

Also this year will be held the Walks of citrus fruits in May and June. On May 6 and 19 and on June  3 and 17, you will be accompanied by expert guides  between paths and tracks of rare beauty, immaculate places, where man has not yet set his hand and where plants and wildlifegrow untouched. “Ethics and Aesthetics”, will be the theme of the 19th Edition of the Positano Sea, Sun and Culture festival held from June 25th to July 29th on the Amalfi coast.

The event will be inaugurated by Aldo Grasso- Chairman of the Organizing Committee – at the Murat building, on June 25th. This day will also host the Margaret Mazzantini award ceremony, author of the book “no one saves themselves.”

This year the “Mostra d’oltremare” will be the official seat of the 46th Edition of the Capri-Naples crossing. The race will start officially on Sunday June 19th, with starting point from Marina grande in Capri and arrival at the promenade of Via Caracciolo, in Naples.

Kicking off today, June 8th, the 2011 edition of the Classical Sorrento event, which will see the city host in its most historical areas, such as the wonderful gardens, mansions and museums, a series of concerts of classical music and Opera, which will take place until July 4th.

This year, from the 2nd to the 10th of June there will be the regatta of Saracen towers, an event that now arrives at its sixth edition.

The race involves several of the most important ports of the Gulf of Naples and Salerno in a path that stretches for about 200 miles.

At Villa Fiorentino, from May 14th to June 26th, the exhibition concerning the naval life of the Sorrentine Peninsula will take place, the event’s full title is actually “The maritime life of Sorrento and the wooden shipbuilding from Marina d’ Equa to Marina Grande”.

This will surely be a Spring vacation that will leave you breathless. Sorrento, for 2011, has organized exceptional events for those with an eye for art and for those who can’t resist the idea of gaining knowledge and experience from new cultures and traditions!
